About Rawsaol
We are Rawsaol. We create homewares and lifetime products for people who enjoy simple, functional, and beautiful objects made from raw materials.
Rawsaol is a project developed by Brendan McCarey & James Cleary a pair who initially became friends over the garden wall. Summer evenings with family and friends were illuminated with open fires and this began their search for a functional long lasting fire pit that was portable and easy to store. With James's background in industrial design and Brendan's in craft design, they designed and tested prototypes to create an aesthetically functional fire pit. Through the process they also created a range of useful objects for everyday life, with functional design and symmetry as their mantra.
Sustainability is at the heart of what Rawsaol strives for. Where possible, our packaging and materials are sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly. Our recycled raw steel produces a product which will last a lifetime. The raw finish allows the steel to develop a beautiful patina that matures in character as it ages.
Based in the rural village of Mullan, Co Monaghan, the pair now create a wide range of homewares and outdoor products for people who enjoy simple, functional, and beautiful objects.
Terms & Conditions
Fire pit Grill care.
Wash and dry immediately before and after each use. Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after you wash it and before each use.
If rust starts to appear you can simply use a coarse brush or soft sanding pad to remove the rust, then dry immediately and season again with vegetable oil or shortening. Letting water sit on your grill for prolonged periods of time is likely to cause rust spots, so soaking is not recommended.
When in use, remember that the handles will get hot so please use mitts or heat resistant leather gloves. And set it in a safe place when removed from the fire to cool.
Once your grill has cooled, clean and dry immediately, and be sure to store in a dry place.
The Patina Process
Patina is a natural weathering process which occurs when metal is exposed to air, water, and weather events. Through the patina process, your firepit will form a unique look and protect the metal. Be advised, the natural side effect of the patina process can sometimes stain wood or fair-colored surfaces. Be mindful of this as you choose the spot for your firepit to patina. Your firepit will naturally patina over time, but it’s possible to accelerate or delay the process.
Returns
We can replace products that arrive with you in a damaged state free of charge. As the fire pits are made from 5mm steel this is very unlikely to happen but in the event that it does please send photographs along with an explanation to Made to Last.
If you simply change your mind then we can arrange collection for your return at £10 - Collection in 1-2 days.
