Little Lana Wool Duvet Children Single Size (135CM X 200CM) Medium Weight 300GSM
Handcrafted by Devon Duvets in England using sustainable, platinum grade British wool and encased in soft 100% cotton to create a lofty wool duvet with a wonderful drape.
The unique natural properties of wool resist dust mites and can help to relieve the symptoms of allergies or asthma. Wool is also naturally breathable, helping to keep warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer, creating a sleeping environment unique to each person. This makes woollen duvets a perfect solution for partners sleeping under one duvet with differing body temperatures.
Easy to care for, simply refresh by airing and although our wool is unbleached and has no chemical treatments, you can machine wash on a wool setting, spinning out any excess water and air dry for a more thorough clean.
We believe these are the key benefits of our Wool Duvets:
- Handcrafted in England using 100% natural materials
- British ‘Platinum’ Grade Wool, cleaned and needled in England without the use of bleach or chemicals.
- Resists dust mite, helping to relieve allergies
- Regulates body temperature, stay warm in Winter and cool in Summer
- Responsible and sustainable
- Wool is naturally fire retardant
- 2 different weights of Wool Duvet
In view of wools ability to insulate your body, yet release excess heat, any tog comparisons are wide-ranging and unique to you depending upon your natural body temperature. This duvet is a 600 gsm Spring/Autumn Weight recommended for older children whose temperature control mechanism is fully developed.
As an indication, we can provide the following guidelines:
Summer Weight 300gsm* (Approximate TOG Equivalent 4 - 7)
Spring/Autumn Weight 600gsm* (Approximate TOG Equivalent 8 - 14)
*grammes of wool per square metre
Note: We do not recommend that children younger than 12 months sleep under a duvet. Even though natural wool is scientifically proven to breathe and help regulate body temperature, care should be taken in choosing the weight of duvet for children. Parents should monitor to ensure their child does not become overheated as a childs' body temperature can work differently to adults and this together with the temperature of the sleeping room and the fabric of their pyjamas should be considered. We recommend that you do not exceed 300 gsm for children under 10 years and if you feel that extra insulation is required in the colder months, we recommend that you use a blanket made from a natural fibre that can be pulled up over the 300 gsm duvet to add flexible insulation that parents can control. As the child becomes older, a thicker 600 gsm duvet can be considered.
About the Supplier
Husband and wife team Dick and Pauline Beijen bought their flocks of sheep during the summer of 2008 as the first step into their idea of creating high quality, natural British wool duvets; the challenge being to develop a high quality duvet that draped and behaved as a duvet should. The original wool duvet.
After more than a year of development work, the latter part of which was filmed by Channel 4 with Monty Don in his series 'My Dream Farm', Devon Duvets was born.
