Boarded Solid Oak Refectory Table

The Boarded oak refectory dining table is constructed using 4 or 5 wide 50mm thick oak boards. The legs are from one solid piece of timber typically 100mm thick. These solid oak tables are handmade to order using the finest oak to compliment any dining room or kitchen, with a choice of 3 x finishes.

All of our tables bases are made using traditional methods which is a mortice and tenon joint which is pegged through for additional support.

The boarded refectory tables has a solid 54 mm thick top. This means the thickness we buy the oak in at before it is planed and sanded. A typical finished thickness is approx. 47 mm.

This dining table comes in a natural oak finish, although some of the images above may represent a slightly darker finish. Please go by the lighter finish to understand how your table will look in terms of the colour.

The dining table is available in 3 different sizes that can be selected using the filter next to the add to basket button.

Guarantee Terms
Guaranteed against joint failure Handmade English Oak furniture is unique, as such; dimensions, colouring and grain will vary from piece-to-piece, with no two pieces being exactly the same. Solid Oak is affected by heat and moisture.

A warm, dry environment will cause Oak to shrink, whilst a cold, moist environment will cause it to swell. Your new piece of furniture will benefit greatly by placing it in a position in a room well away from localised extremes of temperature, for example next to a radiator or exposed to direct sunlight.

In addition to knots and cracks naturally within your timber, a further level of “cracking” also known as “drying shakes” may occur. This is perfectly normal – the ageing process has begun and the character of your handmade piece of furniture is forming.

Knots, cracks, drying shakes and movement are inherent characteristics of natural wood and are NOT CONSIDERED A FAULT in the wood or our workmanship.
